Free Speech Zones

I was tabling today at Arkansas Tech University in the quad area between the library and Dean Hall, and was having some success until I was approached by two uniformed police officers. They informed me that I could only table in a predetermined "free speech zone", and that I could only do that after I had asked permission from the proper authorities.

So, you know just forget about that little thing known as the First Amendment, because as we all know, you can only properly excercise free speech, when you are told if you can say it, and where you are allowed to do so. We also know that if someone is outside in an open area, that they might hinder other student's abilities to learn as they walk to and from class. This of course can not be allowed at Arkansas Tech.

Thankfully the "free speech zone" is of course in a very high traffic area where I am sure to see way more students than I would if I had stayed in my original location. So, I must say thank you to Officer Ramirez and his unnamed partner for helping me in my endeavors. The downside is that I was not able to record these officers as they informed me of my constitutional rights.
